Ryan Charlson
Ryan is a Board Certified Specialist in Construction Law and a member of the Construction Lawyers Society of America (CLSA), an invitation-only organization with less than 100 members in Florida. For over a decade, Ryan has represented public and private construction industry clients in all aspects of the construction process, including real estate acquisition, land development, financing, risk management, licensure, procurement, contract formation, project administration, delay and critical path analysis, default/termination, and post-completion dispute resolution.
Prior to law school, Ryan earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and worked in the insurance industry. Early in his legal career, Ryan was in-house counsel for one of the nation’s largest homebuilders.
Ryan received his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois Chicago Law School where he graduated cum laude and achieved the Dean’s List all semesters. During law school, Ryan served as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review and was a member of the Trial Advocacy and Dispute Resolution Honors Council. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Florida.
Derek Lacy, CPCU, CIC
Derek Lacy is the Senior Commercial Risk Consultant of Bowen, Miclette & Britt Insurance Agency since 2017. In this role he is responsible as a client executive, developer of risk management initiatives, implementation of risk transfer plans and overseeing client participation in BMB’s risk management division, which includes claims, legal and loss control. Mr. Lacy has 23 years experience in the insurance industry and was promoted to join BMB from his previous stint as executive vice president of ISU American Business Insurance of Indianapolis.
When not working Derek usually spends his time with his wife, Emily, and three children (age 3, 9 and 13). He enjoys yearlong outdoor activities that Florida provides. He is very active in his church, charitable activities and, like all Hoosier natives, motorsports and basketball.
Margie Morris, CCIFP
Margie Morris, CCIFP, joined Guignard Company in 2002. She became a partner in 2016. Margie has a deep understanding of the construction and surety industry. She has assisted her clients in expanding, buying, or selling their businesses, setting up ESOP’s, Private Equity arrangements, and ownership transition.
Margie spends time educating herself and staying in the forefront of the surety industry. She frequently speaks as an industry expert to various construction and trade organizations.
Margie received her BS in Finance with a minor in Marketing from Florida Southern College and her MBA from Webster University. Outside of work, Margie spends her personal time with her family, pets, friends, exercising, and leading/facilitating mission work in Brazil, Cuba, and Jamaica.
Ricardo Villamil, CPA
Ricardo Villamil is the Orlando Managing Principal at Rehmann and also provides audit, review and advisory services for privately held middle-market clients. He serves many of the Orlando office’s largest clients in a variety of industries, including construction.
Ricardo has been in public accounting since 1998 providing clients with assurance and financial reporting services. His knowledge and experience working with middle market privately-held companies, enables him to help his clients with all financial reporting and compliance challenges. Ricardo has also been involved in numerous non-traditional transactions and engagements such as mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, reviews of internal controls and development of processes, and interim controllership.
Scott Wall
Scott Wall is the Commercial Banking Manager and Market Executive for the Central Florida market. Scott stared his career in 1996 with NationsBank in Charlotte, North Carolina. During that time he completed their Commercial Credit Training Program before moving to Orlando. After moving to Orlando, Scott worked for Bank of America (post acquisition of NationsBank), Wells Fargo and most recently PNC Bank for the past 12 years. At PNC, Scott covered Commercial and Middle Market companies. He has been leading a team at Regions Bank since early 2017.
Scott received his undergraduate degree from Stetson University and his MBA from Clemson University. He has been married to his wife Erin for 23 years and has two daughters – Amanda and Samantha.
